Friends, This message is so hard to write. We are closing our doors temporarily due to the COVID19 pandemic. At the moment, we will be closed through April 12. My guess is that we will have to close for longer than that. It is the responsible and ethical thing to do to prevent community spread and be a part of the solution for this sudden and frightening crisis.
Ways to Help Yourself and Support CMT:
1. Full Body Self Care/Self Massage
I am offering my self care foam rolling and self massage video to all of you. The video remains free of charge, but if you are able, please consider a donation of $5-10 to support CMT through our transition. Here is the link:
Full-body foam rolling video:
password: scenthusiast (as in self care enthusiast)
Donations can be made to @ruthnewnam through venmo or you can purchase the video through our gift certificate page: https://app.acuityscheduling.com/catalog.php?owner=14405271&action=addCart&clear=1&id=780985
This purchase includes the video link and password for access, when you choose to View Certificate. So, you could buy this video for a friend or relative in need of self care. If you do not have a foam roller and a pinky ball, you can order them online or receive one from me. My prices are at cost.
2. Self Care Classes through Zoom (yoga, lymphatic, partner care, and more)
I am beginning to zoom (virtual meeting site) yoga classes, foam rolling, and other self care practices. All of those updated classes that you can sign in to zoom.us for will be posted on www.practice-well.com and www.carrboromassagetherapy.com by the end of the day Friday March 20. Additionally, I will offer generic and specific videos for lymphedema care and can offer private zoom sessions to help those with lymphedema create good partner care at home. I hope you will tune in and, if you are able, to 'pay what you can' to use these valuable tools at home. Again, payment options will be made available through the zoom site and through our gift certificate page.
3. Gift Certificates
We invite you to purchase a gift certificate online if you would like to continue to support our staff while we make this transition. GCs never expire and we will honor all purchases upon our return to work. We will get to the other side of this pandemic. Of course this may only be an option for those of you with a reliable income, and we understand that this ask is akin to charity, however, it could buy our staff a little time to adjust to this time off work, and of course you will get your massage at a later date. Our website is updated so that this option remains available to you: https://app.acuityscheduling.com/catalog.php?owner=14405271
If you already have a GC, we ask that you wait to redeem it. If you are in desperate financial need yourself, please send me an email and be patient with me as we refund your purchase. If you have already paid for an upcoming session, we can apply that to a future session or offer a refund.
These are difficult times for so many of us. We hope to stay connected. Please send me an email if you would like to receive weekly class updates. Otherwise, check out www.practice-well.com and www.carrboromassagetherapy.com for updates. I'll refrain from overdoing it with the emails until we approach the April 12 date.
Thank you and be well. Ruth, Sheila and Shena
